The mission of SDP Ltd. is to foster informed, innovative and sound policy
decisions that lead to equitable, just and sustainable social and human development.
We contribute to the production, organization and dissemination of scientific and
technical knowledge and information for their application in capacity building and poverty
reduction efforts. Building on an extensive network of individual and institutional
partners in Canada, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, SDP aims to:
 Strengthen the
capacity of development practitioners, social managers, community leaders, researchers,
and policy makers to develop, manage and evaluate social policies and programs.
Identify and
promote best practices and innovations that lead to secure, sustainable and equitable
human development.
Facilitate the
exchange of ideas and public debate on matters of public policy, aid delivery, and
international development; and
Build
international collaborative partnerships between Canada and the South.
We offer clients a unique blend of expertise in applied social policy research,
evaluation and strategic analysis. Our work focusses on the design, analysis,
implementation and evaluation of programs in education and training; health care, social
safety nets and social security, poverty alleviation, and governance of social services in
the Canadian and international development context. Our team includes experts with
extensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines. Their experience includes working
with policy makers, researchers, NGOs, development agencies, and governments in Africa,
Canada, Latin America and the United States.
